The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Synopsis
“I was born under unusual circumstances.” And so begins “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards. A man, like any of us, unable to stop time. We follow his story set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man’s life can be. Directed by David Fincher, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is a time traveler’s tale of the people and places he bumps into along the way, the loves he loses and finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.Latest from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' is out Christmas day.
"...Brad immediately responded to the material, and obviously when Fincher got involved, he said, absolutely, I want to do it. And I think the only resistance that he had and any actor would have was the realization that even though there's a lot of CG work in this, there was a lot of sitting in a chair, waiting for makeup..."

'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' is out in theaters Christmas day.
"...I really loved about it was the sparseness of - at the end of someone's life, very often for a lot of people, it happens in a room. It's a painful, claustrophobic few days of whatever the myriad journey someone has gone on, and all the experiences they've had. It comes down to a sort of no-frills ending..."

Interview: Fight Club director David Fincher
News.scotsman.com has recently interviewed acclaimed director David Fincher about his new film, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". The interview also drifts into record-straightening discussion of Fincher's reputation. Fincher laughs at the accusations of being a sadist, anti-God and, outrageously, of inciting fascism. However, Fincher feels that with "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" his fans can expect to see a different side of him, especially with those who describe him as 'dark'. Being his 3rd collaboration with Brad Pitt, the project is already being talked up as a potential Oscar candidate. "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" opens in theaters December 25th.
"The film takes forever to explain, but it's about life, that's all I know," says Fincher, who has been involved with it for the best part of seven years. "I like to think of it as being about the dents that we make on each other, that's the best description I can think of. I think it's really heartfelt."
